Allan Pinkerton (1819-1884)
Few contributions made by Private Detectives can rival Pinkerton’s legendary work in saving President Lincoln from assasination on the way to his inauguration. Pinkerton, at Lincoln’s request, created the Secret Service and assured his own place in history.
The PI Museum collection includes a copy of Pinkerton’s study on the assassination attempt.
